Crumbled Walls…

Crumbled Walls…

Because… Church is not contained in the 4 walls of any building.  Church is contained in the hearts of those who form the body of Christ.

Because…Church doesn’t have to meet with in the 4 walls of any building.   Church happens when we as an extension of Christ’s body come together and He works through us.

Because… It is time to for the walls to crumble.   For church’s everywhere to break the barriers of their 4 walls and allow the Body to rise up.

Because… This is not a call to get rid of the church communities that exist.  This is a call, to those communities, to  rise to up in response to the calling of the Spirit, and have one voice, one spirit and mind.   To be one Body.  His Body… His Church.

Because… This is a call to the Body of Christ to LOVE like they have never done before.

Philippians 4: 1-3  Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Crumbled walls are possible… Just ask Joshua what happened at Jericho…

A Prayer for life… Our Role

So.. What wakes me from my hibernation from blogging?

The following is a string of comments, starting with the first one I left, followed by a couple responses…I think you will get the jest of my reaction to the article.

    If there is anything we a can learn from Israel, people sin….We will never stop abortion, just like we will never stop any other Sin from happening.  Christ did not come to stop Sin, he came to save us from Sin.My view on this changed, when I stood in front of the Abortion clinic praying.  My prayers turned from “God stop the abortions”  to “God change the heart of the Dr”

    Forget about trying to stop Planned Parent Hood, and start spreading the Love of Christ, so that others hearts are affected and changed by that love.  So the love will change the heart of someone who may decide to follow Christ, and not to have an abortion or may stop preforming abortions.

    Look, guy…its not about “stopping abortion”…if some woman wants to kill her baby, she’s going to find a way…I and many other Americans just don’t want our tax money going to fund this…I support the death penalty for convicted murderers because what they did was their own actions and responsibility…but these babies haven’t even gotten a chance to see what sort of people they will be, yet into a bucket they go…

    And we won’t stop government from misusing money.Until more followers of Christ recognize our role in this world is not to change everything we will never spread the Love of Christ that he commanded us to…As for the babies,  I firmly believe and pray that God has and will take care of the least of these… My prayer beyond that is for the heart of the mother who gets up off that table facing enormous pain that she will find Christ through the love and compassion shown to her regardless of sin… And her sin will be forgiven just as mine is.

    I could careless about the money aspect, I want more people to know the Love of Christ.

    As a follower of Christ our Role in God’s kingdom is to be the arms and legs of Christ’s love…

Love Wide and Deep…

Paul Prays this:

Ephesians 3:16-19

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Then tells us how Christ will accomplish that far reaching love….

Ephesians 4:11-16

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

We, His followers, are the wide, long and high and  deep love of Christ.   We are his Body.

How are you consumed…

When I wrote this post last week, What should be occupied… I did not expect the fundamental shift in my thinking and understanding that happened following.

In the comments I replied:

My point is it is not up to anyone but the people to do what is in their own power and resources to fix the issues. God’s plan through Christ was and is because we have it screwed up. While I agree with you about the Greed… Christ’s command to us is to Love One another… If we started doing that for every person encountered…. Greed would take care of itself. We have to stop thinking that anything we think of this side of heaven will fix the issues of this world, and start looking to the example of Christ.

He touched the Lepper,…, he called out the righteous, he served the poor, he washed the feet… and He Loved the unlovable, which is every single person to walk the face of this earth… Why on earth do we think that the ideas of this world will fix anything?

LOVE IS THE ANSWER!!! Let love be the OCCUPIER.

I have wrestled with God all week about where, why and how… And what Love being the Occupier should look like.

The world and all of it’s influence really has us screwed up, in thanking that we can get what we want in life just by consuming what is being sold.  Forming our thoughts around what it means to be rich, have stuff, be sexy, and buy happiness.  We dream about it and pursue each whim that fills our desire, and make temporary Idols of what we think fills those desires. My soul screams and my heart aches, watching people not consuming but being consumed by a life full of lies.  A life consumed with finding pleasure and happiness in stuff that can only bring a temporary fix until the next lie consumes our desires.

My prayers have rested on two partial verses of Scripture:

All Scripture is God breathed.

For the Word of God is living and active.

Breathed and Living and Active… LOVE.  Oh Holy God… How are we not consumed by your love?

Far to often Christians will fall into and are consumed themselves by the walls of church, and fail to be the breath that is living and active.

We are His Body the Church.  Christ in command of his body, uses us to breath and be active.  Christ commands us to Love…

When all of a sudden I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by Glory…And I realize just how beautiful you are, and how great your affection is for me…. David Crowder Band.

God’s glorious love and affection should overshadow the lies of the world and consume our action as the Body of His Son.  That love affection is breathed through His body being the Church we are commanded to be.

We the people who form the Body of Christ are to be what God breathed as living and active.  We are to be consumed by God’s love and set in motion to bring that breath of love to others.  To bring that living and active Christ to those who are consumed by the lies of the world.

Love should be what occupies us and what consumes our every breath, to live and act as Christ.

What should be Occupied…

The left needs to stop harping that the rich do not pay enough taxes…

The right needs to quit yelling get a job…

And we all need to stop expecting the government to fix the issues and be a provider of all things…

Just madding that a simple truth of “Do unto others”… Gets so muddled up.

WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE ANSWER…

God gives us time, talent and resources. We are to use them wisely and for His work.  We are not to be lazy and hide, expecting something to happen.

Mathew 25:14-30

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

So what should really be Occupied?   Ourselves, doing work that will benefit others.   Each one of us has the power to affect the lives of another person.   Wall Street, Main Street, back alley’s to suburban streets. In all countries and walks of life.

Stop demanding what you think you deserve.  Look at the person next you and do for them what you can with the resources and talent you have.   If you can give money, give money… if you can provide a meal, provide a meal.. if you can provide shelter, provide shelter…if you can provide companionship, provide companionship…if you can pray, then pray… If you can, then do what you can.   Only as you would expect in return.

Matthew 7:12

 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

You are loved…

That is it I am done…. This needs to be said.

I saw this today on twitter…

Yes I know the person, and yes I know her very well.  And my heart breaks when I see these posts… I will not rail on why she feels this way, but it is a situation that is playing out all to often in this so called “society”.   Well there is nothing social about what is going on… but I digress, before I go to much further….

I wrote a post about a year ago:  Breaking my Silence… Grow Up  and it was directed at the person who in part caused the pain of the one my heart breaks for.

So todays post is for her.

My prayer is for you to hold strong to your faith.  It is not easy, and everything in the world will tell you to turn against it.  The world lies, and when the world lies, well for some reason people listen.  They want the easy way out or the quick fix.   When all the time the fix is standing right there with them, waiting for them to recognize Him.   DO NOT LET THE WORLD DRAW YOU INTO THE LIES.

Please know that you are loved.  Loved by a God who know’s his Daughter better than any mortal man, and wants nothing more than for you to have a life of Joy.  God knows your pain, because what you are experiencing is not his plan, and He feels your pain with you.

Have faith in him to calm the wind and waves.   Peter had to walk with Christ through the wind and the waves back to the boat before the wind died down.

 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

I tell my own daughter this as often as I can.  I know you need to hear these words.  You are Beautiful and I am proud of you.   You have made the tough decisions, and you have faced the fear.  I don’t know what you are going through, but your strength shows.  I know it hurts…but you have FAITH in the one who can bring you back to the boat and calm the storm.

You are loved!!!!

Portions at His table…

God’s word will fill you full one day, and just give you nuggets the next.  You pour yourself into studying His word, and you come up with just a crumb of truth.  Are the crumbs good enough for you?  God does not give you more than you can handle at any given time.  Although He reveals His complete truth to you all the time, your understanding of that truth, or the part of the truth you are dealing with in your life may just be a crumb.

Math 15:22- 28 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”  23Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”  24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”  25The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.  26He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.”  27″Yes, Lord,” she said, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”  28Then Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Through Christ’s death we have a seat at his table. We eat from the Masters table of truth when we read the word, and sometimes just wonder what it all means.  But if we live by the Spirit, in the times of not understanding the Truth,  God’s word will come to us in the portions that we need.   Feast or Crumbs.   God will provide his Truth for us.

Lamentations 3:24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Matthew8:11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Oh… Hello…

Yes… I am still around and yes, I do plan to return to regularly scheduled programming here at continued…

Just keep these thoughts in the back of your head until…Well really these are the thoughts in my  head so I will just put them here to help us all remember… These are just thoughts, not statements of full opinion…

God is a God of order… what does that mean for CHURCH… Acts 6: 1-7 has sent me on a journey.

Truth is hard to see if we don’t change the filter on our lives…

To impact a life, takes Christ acting not just through me, but letting Him be me in any given situation… After all He can be a better ME than me…

Frustration is not brought on by the circumstances you are in.  Frustration is brought on by not taking action to change those circumstances…

Writing… Writing… Our IDENTITY is Worthy…  So I leave you with…

You are more than flesh and bone….We are all worth dying for… AWESOME….

A study of truth…

For the past two weeks. I have been studying truth…

For the follower of Christ, the ultimate expression of “what is true” is found in the Bible, in Jesus who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6).  The Greek for true or truth is “Alethes” and means to tell the truth. Alethes is derived from the original Greek word A or Alpha. Alpha is the beginning of every thing, and Christ said In Rev 22:13 “I am the Alpha and omega” By saying I AM…the truth Christ expresses his divinity as God. Christ being the Alpha the beginning, and has been here from the beginning, the truth is derived through Christ, and He is our truth of how we are to live.

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Christ Is the Alpha, Christ Is the Word, Christ Is the Truth, Christ Is God

Eph 4:20-24 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.The truth of Christ turns us away from our _ old self_ and our __deceitful desires__, and renews the _attitude_of our __Minds_1

John in his Gospel and first letter to the churches writes about what living this truth looks like.

John 1:6-10 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 2:4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.

1 John 2:20-23 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 21 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

1 John 3:18-24 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

The truth is in our heart and will condemn, but God will overcome.  The truth will give us confidence as we approach God.  His Truth is how we are to live, and His command is:  Believe in Christ and to Love  one another.
